United Sadhav Shipbuilding & Offshore Facilities in Odisha is making waves with its focus on innovation and sustainability. Developing similar projects in Mexico and South Africa United Petro Group a great way to expand and contribute to the global maritime industry in diverse regions.
United Petro Group (UPG) and Sadhav Group have signed a MoU with the Government of Odisha ON 28th January 2025. The project entails the construction of large ships along with repair facilities capable of servicing 20– 25 ships annually. It also includes the development of offshore supply base facilities, such as warehouses and material storage, to support offshore operations.
Incorporating renewable energy, digitalization, circular economy models, and sustainable fuel alternatives, UPG and Sadhav Group’s project will aim to establish Odisha as a hub for green maritime operations. The integration of sustainable practices—such as eco-friendly vessel disposal, clean energy adoption, and green logistics— in alignment with the existing project requirements as detailed in the MoU, ensures alignment with global ESG standards while attracting investment and fostering long-term profitability.
This proposed project, in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, strategically will support industrial and maritime growth, positioning the companies involved at the forefront of sustainable maritime innovation.

• The project benefits from Odisha’s Renewable Energy Policy 2022, the National Green Hydrogen Mission, and Make in Odisha, securing policy support, incentives, and alignment with national sustainability goals.
• Pioneering in sustainable maritime infrastructure, UPG and Sadhav Group can create new investment opportunities, increase operational resilience, and position themselves as leaders in the transition to a greener maritime industry.
Maritime and industrial operations are major contributors to global carbon emissions, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. With rising regulatory pressures, stakeholder expectations, and economic requirements for long-term resilience, industries are shifting toward sustainable practices that include energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, and decarbonization. Thus, Odisha, being a major industrial and maritime hub in India, has the potential to lead the transition to more efficient and sustainable operations
United Petro Group! Sustainability initiatives are increasingly important for companies in the energy sector, especially in regions like Mexico and Africa where environmental and social impacts can be more pronounced. These efforts could involve reducing carbon emissions, investing in renewable energy, improving waste management, and engaging with local communities to support long-term development
