Lead and manage business origination efforts within the oil and gas sector, identifying and securing new opportunities to drive revenue growth and strengthen market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in the oil and gas sector, aligning with company growth objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders, to drive business development.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify emerging opportunities and develop strategic plans.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations, legal, and finance, to structure and negotiate complex agreements and contracts.
Evaluate the financial viability and risk of potential projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic and financial goals.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and foster partnerships.
Prepare detailed proposals, presentations, and business cases to secure internal and external stakeholder buy-in.
Drive the end-to-end origination process, including prospecting, due diligence, negotiation, and deal closure.
Track and report on the performance of origination activities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Stay updated on industry regulations, policies, and developments to ensure compliance and identify potential impacts on business operations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high-level client and partner relationships.
Expertise in strategic planning, market analysis, and business development processes.
Exceptional negotiation and deal-structuring skills.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with financial modeling and risk assessment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in using CRM tools and other business development software.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards in the oil and gas industry.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in origination, business development, or related roles within the oil and gas industry.
Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving revenue growth
