Role Overview:

Manage and develop trading activities in the LNG sector, fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders to maximize revenue and ensure smooth execution of trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute LNG trading strategies and manage day-to-day trading operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and counterparties to identify and secure trading opportunities.
  • Monitor global LNG markets, analyze price trends, and provide insights to inform trading decisions.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, regulations, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, risk management, and finance, to ensure the seamless execution of trades.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with LNG trading activities, including credit, operational, and market risks.
  • Manage the scheduling and logistics of LNG cargoes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate records of trading activities and provide regular reports to senior management on trading performance and market developments.
  • Represent the company at industry events, fostering relationships and staying updated on market developments and regulatory changes.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance trading efficiency, profitability, and compliance.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of LNG trading, including market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and global trade flows.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills to build long-term partnerships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, trends, and trading signals.
  • Solid understanding of risk management principles in trading environments.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms, market analysis tools, and CRM software.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple contracts, schedules, and logistics simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, compliance standards, and contractual terms in LNG trading.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Energy Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in LNG trading, energy trading, or similar roles.
  • Proven track record of successful trading activities and deal closures in the LNG sector.
  • Experience with physical and/or financial LNG trading is preferred.
